Harrison leads Ayr over Wellesley, 6-2

Behind a great game by Tyler Harrison, who had two goals and one assist, the Ayr Centennials defeated the Wellesley Applejacks, 6-2.

Harrison's tallies came at 1:32 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Ayr and 4:41 into the third to make the score 5-2 Ayr.

Wellesley's power play was ineffective against Ayr's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Centennials kept the Applejacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Porter made 43 saves on 49 shots. Ayr could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Ayr also got points from Riley Clipper, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ayr also had goals scored by Austin Kovrig, Jordan Pettitt, and Brendan Schaefer, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Sean Mitchell, who had two and Mackenzie Kemp, Jake Whibbs, Jackson White, Carver Ormiston, and Quinn Diamond, who each chipped in one.

Wellesley's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Ayr power plays.

The Applejacks were helped by David Elford, who racked up one goal. Elford scored on the power play 2:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wellesley. Wellesley had gotten the advantage when the Centennials' Ormiston was sent off for high sticking. Nicholas Breault picked up the assist. Wellesley additionally got points from Sean McEwan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Wellesley received assists from Alex Uttley, who had one.

Hayden Padalino made 25 saves for Ayr on 27 shots. The Applejacks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
