Paris holds on for 8-6 win against DelhiDelhi Community Centre Sun, Oct 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Delhi Travellers tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Paris Mounties held on for an 8-6 victory. Paris made the score 8-4 on a goal by Brodie Smith at 6:01 in the third period, and Delhi got as close as 8-6 when Kelsey Van Ymeren scored 18:00 into the third period. The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide. The Travellers took its last lead at 2:47 in the second on a goal by Nevin Guenther to make the score 4-3 Delhi. The Mounties took over the lead for good with a power play goal by Brady Wheelans 7:17 into the second to make the score 5-4. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:18 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Paris forced Travellers' goalies to work all game long, finishing with 45 shots and forcing 37 saves. Kodie Oude made 14 stops and Mike Harrison made 23. The Mounties' goal total was higher than their season average. Paris has scored at the pace of 5.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Paris additionally got points from Wheelans, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Patrick Snell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Richard Brooks also scored for Paris. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Connor Purbrick, who had one and Keegan Alvestad, Griffin Heitshu, and Cole Corriveau, who contributed two each. The Travellers bested their season scoring average. Delhi averages 3.1 goals per game. The Travellers were led by Greg Tucci, who tallied one goal and two assists.
