McLeod lifts Burford over Delhi, 6-2

The Burford Bulldogs relied on the scoring touch of Ryan McLeod, who netted two goals, to beat the Delhi Travellers, 6-2.

McLeod's tallies came at 16:24 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and 35 seconds into the third to make the score 3-2 Burford.

Delhi's power play was ineffective against Burford's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Burford surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Bulldogs average 2.8 goals per game.

Burford also got points from Jesse Szabo, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Burford included Gabe Bruder, Tyler Mellish, and Matt Zilke, who each put in one. More assists for Burford came via Owen Hinch, who had two and Ryan Cadwell, Jensen DaSilva, Connor MacKay, and Blaise Burtnick, who each chipped in one.

The Travellers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Burford power plays.

Delhi was helped by Rhett Roney, who registered one goal. Roney scored 5:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Delhi. Quin Kramer picked up the assist. Brandon Szymesko also scored for Delhi. In addition, Delhi received assists from Jared Ebdon and Jared Prekup, who contributed one each.

Jack Stockdale made 17 saves for Burford on 19 shots. The Bulldogs incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kodie Oude rejected 18 shots on goal for the Travellers. Delhi incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
