Arsenault nets hat trick, leads Paris to 4-3 win over Burford

A hat trick by Tyler Arsenault was the highlight in Mounties' 4-3 win against the Burford Bulldogs.

Arsenault got on the scoresheet 6:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:35 into the second and at 14:19 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:03 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Paris Mounties forced Burford goalie Riley Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Paris had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances.

Paris also got points from Griffin Heitshu, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Paris received assists from Austin Sine, Keegan Alvestad, Jacob Norcott, Brady Wheelans, Joshua Schafer, Nick Palmer, and Garrett Kirby, who contributed one each.

The Bulldogs' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. Burford surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Bulldogs were helped by Mitch Randell, who racked up one goal. Randell scored 3:04 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Matt Zilke picked up the assist. Burford additionally got points from Tyler Mellish, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Burford also got a goal from Owen Hinch as well. More assists for Burford came via Nolan Ferris and Kurtis Christo, who each chipped in one.

Zach Shomphe rejected 25 shots on goal for the Mounties. Paris ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Team's Mikael Ruffini and Cole Corriveau were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Riley Edwards made 28 saves for Burford on 32 shots. The Bulldogs registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Burford, Connor MacKay was ejected from the game.
