Behind a great game by Shaun Pickering, who had two goals, the Tavistock Braves defeated the Woodstock Navy Vets, 3-1. Pickering's tallies came on the power play at 4:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock and 8:02 into the second to make the score 2-1 Tavistock.Tavistock was led by goalie Ben Larder, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. Larder managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.55 prior to the game. The Braves did not rack up many penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Tavistock ended up below its season average of 36.0 penalty minutes per game. The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Woodstock to score on any of its three power plays. Tavistock also got a goal from Jacob Rooke as well. More assists for Tavistock came via Mackenzie Sealy, Jamie Shoemaker, and Maverick Petrie, who contributed one each. The Navy Vets forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and one major for 45 minutes in penalty time. Woodstock had been averaging 22.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Navy Vets were held below their usual level of production. Woodstock averages 3.4 goals per game. The Navy Vets forced Tavistock goalie Larder to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Woodstock was led by Dan Haig, who scored the team's only goal. Haig scored 50 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jacob Brown assisted on the tally. The Braves registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For Tavistock, Tayler Trachsel was ejected from the game. Jackson Swindells rejected 26 shots on goal for the Navy Vets.
