Seraphim lifts Ayr over Burford, 7-3

Cash Seraphim was all over the ice for the Ayr Centennials, as he tallied two goals in Ayr's 7-3 win over the Burford Bulldogs.

Seraphim scored at 4:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ayr and again while 17:35 into the second to make the score 4-3 Ayr.

Burford was unable to stop the Centennials from sending pucks towards the net, and Ayr eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. The Centennials got their opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of their 11 chances. Ayr struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Ayr also got points from Quinn Diamond, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Ayr included Riley Clipper, who had two and Tyler Harrison and Felix Lantaigne, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ayr received assists from Jackson White, who had one and Jake Whibbs and Mitch Klie, who contributed three each.

The Bulldogs stifled the Centennials' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Burford could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Bulldogs were led by Kurtis Christo, who registered one goal and one assist. Christo scored on the power play 12:35 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Ayr. A head contact penalty on Whibbs had put Burford on the power play. Nolan Ferris picked up the assist. Burford additionally got points from Tyler Mellish, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mitch Rowse also scored for Burford. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Brendyn Martyniuk, who had one.

Ayr's Ryan Hergott stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Riley Edwards made 32 saves for the Bulldogs on 39 shots.
