Shomphe leads Paris to shutout victory over Tavistock

Zach Shomphe was superb between the pipes for the Paris Mounties, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Tavistock Braves.

Paris' penalty kill excelled, as the Mounties gave up zero goals despite allowing 13 power plays.

Paris stifled Tavistock's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mounties could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Paris puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The Mounties could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

Paris was helped by Joshua Schafer, who had one goal. Schafer scored 8:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Mikael Ruffini picked up the assist. Paris additionally got points from Ruffini, who also registered one goal and one assist. Paris also got a goal from Tyler Arsenault as well. In addition, Paris received assists from Ryan Stephenson, who had one and Griffin Heitshu and Cole Corriveau, who contributed two each.

The Braves excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Tavistock was held below its usual level of production. The Braves average 3.3 goals per game. Tavistock's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Braves finished with 76 penalty minutes.

The Mounties' Shomphe stopped 25 shots out of the 25 that he faced. For Paris, Garrett Kirby was ejected from the game. Ben Larder rejected 23 shots on goal for Tavistock. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kevan Hadad was ejected from the game.
