Burford blows out Norwich, 7-4

The Burford Bulldogs were firing on all cylinders against the Norwich Merchants, and when the final buzzer sounded Bulldogs emerged with a 7-4 win.

With four goals and one assist between them, Adam Harris and Jesse Brooks teamed up to power Burford's offense. Harris registered two goals and Brooks also added two goals and one assist.

The Bulldogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Norwich power plays. Burford bested its season scoring average. The Bulldogs average 2.8 goals per game.

Burford additionally got points from Brooks, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Hinde also scored for Burford. More assists for Burford came via Jensen DaSilva, who had two and Brad Vervaecke, Gabe Bruder, Tyler Mellish, Matt Dipaolo, Ryan McLeod, Kurtis Christo, and Mitch Randell, who contributed one each.

Norwich was led by Ryan Dayman, who racked up two goals. Dayman scored the first of his two goals at 10:27 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Burford. Darcey Butler provided the assist. Dayman's next tally made the score 4-2 Burford with 9:46 left in the second period. Troy Lamoure picked up the assist. Others who scored for Norwich included Matt Zilke and Jesse Szabo, who scored one goal each. In addition, Norwich received assists from Brandon Velda, Dalton Alford, and Zack Morrison, who each chipped in one.

Riley Edwards rejected 13 shots on goal for Burford. The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Merchants' Andrew Hawkins stopped 19 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Norwich incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
