Paris rolls over Burford, 11-1

The Burford Bulldogs had trouble finding ways to stop the Paris Mounties, which beat Bulldogs, 11-1.

Garrett Kirby had one goal and two assists to lead Paris. Kirby scored 5:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Paris. Nick Mercier picked up the assist.

The Mounties forced Burford's goalies to work without much rest, getting 40 shots and forcing 29 saves. Jack Stockdale made 15 stops and Riley Edwards made 14. Paris put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bulldogs to score on any of their four power plays. The Mounties surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Paris averages 5.1 goals per game. The defensemen of the Mounties were also effective in Burford's zone, and came away with five goals.

Paris also got points from Mitchell Harvey, who also had one goal and one assist, Keegan Alvestad, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brady Wheelans, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Tyler Arsenault, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Mikael Ruffini, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Paris included Richard Brooks, who had two and Zac Mihalis and Tysen Willemsen, who each put in one. In addition, Paris received assists from Austin Sine, who had two and Connor Purbrick, Ryan Stephenson, and Cole Corriveau, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs were led by Jesse Brooks, who scored the team's only goal. Brooks scored 37 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Burford. Mitch Randell provided the assist.

Paris' starting goalie, Zach Shomphe, made 13 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Connor Curtin, who stopped 10 shots. The Mounties totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For Paris, Jacob Norcott was ejected from the game. Burford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
