The game between the New Hamburg Firebirds and the Tavistock Braves was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end New Hamburg emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Colin Martin at 13:12 of the third period.

Carter Tracey had two goals to lead the Firebirds to victory. Tracey's tallies came on the power play at 3:54 into the second period to make the score 1-0 New Hamburg and 13:28 into the third to make the score 4-2 New Hamburg.

Tavistock was unable to stop New Hamburg from sending pucks towards the net, and the Firebirds eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. New Hamburg was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages. The Firebirds could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

New Hamburg also got a goal from Brodie Muckler as well. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Jerry Ennett, who had two, Ethan Adair, who had three, and Brandon Quan, Chris Eckert, and Andrew Boer, who contributed one each.

The Braves' offense rang up 31 shots on New Hamburg's net. Tavistock's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Braves finished with 40 penalty minutes.

Tavistock was helped by Maverick Petrie, who grabbed one goal. Petrie scored on the power play 16:54 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A high sticking penalty on Quan had put the Braves on the power play. Mackenzie Sealy picked up the assist. Jordan Ritsma also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via Tyson Zehr, who had one.

Tanner Topham made 29 saves for the Firebirds on 31 shots. Ben Larder recorded 37 saves for Tavistock. The Braves registered two goals on seven power play opportunities.
