Petrie lifts Tavistock over Norwich, 3-0Norwich Community Center Sat, Sep 19, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Maverick Petrie was all over the ice for the Tavistock Braves, as he tallied two goals in Tavistock's 3-0 win over the Norwich Merchants. Petrie's tallies came at 7:02 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock and 19:53 into the second to make the score 2-0 Tavistock.The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Norwich to score on any of its five power plays. Tavistock's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Braves gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. Tavistock was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 40 penalty minutes. Tavistock also got a goal from Shaun Pickering as well. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Tyson Zehr, Kieran Van Boekel, and Angus Rowland, who each chipped in one. The Merchants' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 11 Tavistock power plays. Norwich's offense operated below its season average. The Merchants put an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. Ben Larder recorded 16 saves for the Braves. Norwich's Lukas Samson stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Merchants incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with 13 minors.
