Woodstock blows out Wellesley, 4-0

The Woodstock Navy Vets were firing on all cylinders against the Wellesley Applejacks, and when the final buzzer sounded Navy Vets emerged with a 4-0 win.

Woodstock was paced by Jake Schneider, who finished with one goal. Schneider scored on the power play 7:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Woodstock. The Navy Vets had taken the advantage when Wellesley's Matthew Lantz got sent off for slashing. Chris Nauts picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 20:00 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Woodstock excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Navy Vets' offense rang up 37 shots on the Applejacks' net.

Woodstock also got points from Dylan Wettlaufer, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Woodstock also had goals scored by Chris Thompson and Max Racicot, who scored one goal each. More assists for Woodstock came via Austin Richardson, who had two and Jack Taylor and Jeremy Racicot, who each chipped in one.

Jackson Swindells rejected 19 shots on goal for Woodstock. The Navy Vets totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Woodstock ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cam Leslie was ejected from the game. Noah Leis recorded 33 saves for Wellesley. The Applejacks ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Team's Greg Huber and Riley Bester were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
