Huge game by Shoemaker boosts Tavistock over Delhi, 7-4

Jamie Shoemaker had two goals and one assist to lead the Tavistock Braves to a 7-4 victory over the Delhi Travellers.

Shoemaker found the back of the net on the power play 11:23 into the first period to make the score 2-2 and again while on the power play 18:10 into the second to make the score 5-4 Tavistock.

Tavistock kept Delhi's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kodie Oude made 32 saves on 39 shots.

Tavistock also got points from Angus Rowland, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Tavistock included Shaun Pickering, who had two and Jake Wiffen and Derek Hyde, who each put in one. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Jordan Ritsma and Tyson Zehr, who contributed one each and Mackenzie Sealy and Maverick Petrie, who each chipped in two.

The Travellers were led by Jared Ebdon, who racked up two goals. Ebdon scored the first of his two goals at 7:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jared Prekup assisted on the tally. Ebdon's next tally made the score 4-2 Delhi with 1:58 left in the first period. Prekup picked up the assist. Delhi additionally got points from Brandon Szymesko, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mitchell Graham also scored for Delhi. Other players who recorded assists for Delhi were Nick Love, who had two.

The Braves took out Ben Larder after he had made 10 saves and installed Horia Lucaciu in goal, where he finished with eight saves and the win. Tavistock incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Delhi incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
