Lantaigne nets hat trick, leads Ayr to 8-4 win over New HamburgNorth Dumfries Thu, Sep 17, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Felix Lantaigne lifted the Ayr Centennials to an 8-4 victory with a hat trick against the New Hamburg Firebirds. Lantaigne notched his first tally 8:33 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:44 into the third and at 18:23 into the third.Ayr pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Centennials' offense rang up 39 shots on New Hamburg's net. Ayr outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Centennials average 5.8 goals per contest. Ayr cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances. Ayr also got points from Mitch Klie, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Tyler Harrison, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Quinn Diamond, who also finished with two goals and two assists. More assists for Ayr came via Connor MacLean, who had two and Mackenzie Kemp, Ben Roelofson, Riley Clipper, Cash Seraphim, and Sean Mitchell, who each chipped in one. The Firebirds kept the Centennials' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Hergott made 30 saves on 34 shots. New Hamburg was helped by Tyler Hoffman, who grabbed one goal. Hoffman scored 3:23 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ayr. New Hamburg also had goals scored by Tyler Randerson, Jerry Ennett, and Walker Davison, who each put in one. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Matt Bedforth and Andrew Boer, who contributed one each. The Firebirds' Ryan Purcell stopped 31 shots out of the 39 that he faced. New Hamburg incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
