Lantaigne nets hat trick, leads Ayr to 5-2 win over Norwich

The Norwich Merchants could not stop the Ayr Centennials' Felix Lantaigne, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

Lantaigne notched his first tally 19:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:49 into the third and at 19:16 into the third.

Ayr's penalty kill excelled, as the Centennials gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Ayr stifled Norwich's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Centennials could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Others who scored for Ayr included Riley Clipper and Austin Kovrig, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ayr received assists from Mackenzie Kemp, Ben Roelofson, Jake Whibbs, Carver Ormiston, Yianni Skropolis, and Colby Shattila, who each chipped in one.

The Merchants were helped by Zack Morrison, who tallied one goal. Morrison scored 10:15 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Ryan Dayman picked up the assist. Norwich also got a goal from Jesse Dunn as well. Other players who recorded assists for Norwich were Brandon Velda and Dalton Alford, who contributed one each.

Hayden Padalino made 27 saves for Ayr on 29 shots. The Centennials registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Norwich's Andrew Hawkins stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Merchants incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
