Midland blows out Orillia, 6-1

The Orillia Terriers had trouble finding ways to stop the Midland Flyers, which beat Terriers, 6-1.

Midland's Jake Norton was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. Norton managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.49 prior to the game.

The Flyers were paced by Bobby Logan, who racked up one goal and one assist. Logan scored 14:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Midland. Noah Bray provided the assist.

Midland kept Orillia's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gordie Weiss made 34 saves on 40 shots. The Flyers bested their season scoring average. Midland averages 3.7 goals per game.

Midland also got points from Corey DeRose, who also registered one goal and one assist, Matt Smith, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Jake Walter, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Midland also had goals scored by Daniel Pickering and Matt Hudgin, who scored one goal each. More assists for Midland came via Tully Jackson, Evan Buehler, Steven Pickard, and Noah Serre, who contributed one each.

The Terriers' offense rang up 32 shots on the Flyers' net.

Midland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Flyers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Logan was ejected from the game. Orillia incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Terriers, Ben Garrett was ejected from the game.
