Alvinston survives Lakeshore comeback, wins 4-3

The Lakeshore Canadiens tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Alvinston Flyers held on for a 4-3 victory.

Alvinston took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Lakeshore storm back on a Sebastian Kanally goal 17:33 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Karsten Berg was all over the ice for the Flyers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Berg scored the first of his two goals at 3:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alvinston. Hunter Bryce assisted on the tally. Berg's next tally made the score 3-2 Alvinston with 15:40 left in the third period. Bryce picked up the assist.

Alvinston stifled the Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Flyers' offense rang up 36 shots on Lakeshore's net.

Alvinston also got points from Kole Keating, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Clint Rose also scored for Alvinston.

The Canadiens kept Alvinston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Boere made 37 saves on 40 shots. Lakeshore could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lakeshore additionally got points from Brenden Crundwell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lakeshore also got a goal from Jarrett Tazzman as well. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from JJ Percy, who had one and Hunter Corp, who had two.

The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Alvinston, Cole Harris was ejected from the game. Brendan Shuck recorded 32 saves for the Canadiens. Lakeshore registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
