The Lakeshore Canadiens and the Essex 73s skate to 3-3 (OT) tie

Lakeshore and Essex could not settle their match and fought to a 3-3 tie.

The Canadiens forced the 73s goalie Trevor Wheaton to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Lakeshore was helped by Michael Long, who finished with one goal. Long scored 9:52 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Mejoe Gasparovic picked up the assist. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Hunter Corp and Zack Bedard, who each put in one. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Colin Sartor, Steven Sartor, and Logan Percy, who each chipped in one.

Essex was held below its usual level of production. The 73s put an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. Essex kept the Canadiens' goalie busy throughout the game, and Colin Tetreault made 31 saves on 34 shots.

The 73s were led by Luke Gecse, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Gecse scored on the power play 16:17 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Phil Janikowski assisted on the tally. Essex also got points from Janikowski, who also had one goal and one assist and Tyler Boughner, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Essex came via Anthony Cristofaro, who had one.

Lakeshore incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Trevor Wheaton made 42 saves for Essex on 45 shots. The 73s incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
