Tonietto stymies Wheatley, Amherstburg wins 4-1Wheatley Area Arena Mon, Jan 04, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Amherstburg Integrity Admirals relied on the sparkling performance of Daniel Tonietto in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Wheatley Omstead Sharks. Amherstburg was led by Travis Campbell, who registered one goal. Campbell scored 18:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Amherstburg. Dean Patterson picked up the assist. The Integrity Admirals kept Wheatley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Eric Morneau made 31 saves on 35 shots. Amherstburg additionally got points from Broden Meloche, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Amherstburg also had goals scored by Michael Hatch and Lucas Bersuk, who scored one goal each. In addition, Amherstburg received assists from Ryan Wismer, who had two and Dylan Muzzatti, Ryan Alexander, Mitchell Holden, and Kasey Basile, who each chipped in one. The Omstead Sharks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Amherstburg to score on any of its three power plays. Wheatley did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Omstead Sharks put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. Wheatley was led by Mitchell Prudence, who scored the team's only goal. Prudence scored on the power play 15:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Omstead Sharks had taken the advantage when the Integrity Admirals' Bersuk got sent off for hooking. Amherstburg's Tonietto stopped 26 shots out of the 27 that he faced.
