Early goals doom Wallaceburg, falls to Lakeshore, 10-1

The Lakeshore Canadiens opened up a seven-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 10-1 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Sebastian Kanally had four goals and two assists to lead Lakeshore. Kanally notched his first tally 10:36 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:30 into the first, at 19:44 into the first, and at 3:53 into the third.

Wallaceburg's nine penalties came back to haunt it, as the Lakers let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

The Canadiens forced Lakers' netminders to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots and forcing 41 saves. George Hill made 18 stops and Alex Carriere made 23. Lakeshore excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Canadiens surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Lakeshore averages 4.4 goals per game. The defensemen of the Canadiens were also effective in Wallaceburg's zone, and came away with two goals.

Others who scored for Lakeshore included Guy Levesque, who had two and Joe Binder, JJ Percy, Zack Bedard, and Aaron Moore, who scored one goal each. More assists for Lakeshore came via Colin Sartor, Brandon Ireland, and Logan Percy, who each chipped in one and Jarrett Tazzman, Hunter Corp, Brenden Crundwell, and Michael Long, who contributed two each.

The Lakers were often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Wallaceburg had been spending in the box.

Colin Tetreault took the win and made 12 saves before being replaced by Brendan Shuck who made four saves. Lakeshore ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Canadiens ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Percy was ejected from the game. For the Lakers, Keenan Clark was ejected from the game.
