Blenheim downs Mooretown in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Blenheim Blades' Kirk McKillop scored 3:45 into overtime to beat the Mooretown Flags, 4-3 (OT).

Blenheim came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Blades was down 2-0 after a goal by Mooretown's Cameron Rannie at 7:22 in the second period. Blenheim knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Ryan Lyle at 7:33 in the third period.

McKillop was all over the ice for the Blades, as he had two goals in the win.

Blenheim kept the Flags' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Johnson made 35 saves on 39 shots.

Blenheim also got points from Brayden Hopkins, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Nick Delyzer, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Drew Marlatt, who had two and Dylan Hathaway, Dustin Maines, and Corbin Hagerman, who contributed one each.

Mooretown was led by Mike Kindrachuk, who tallied one goal and two assists. Kindrachuk scored on the power play 15:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mooretown. The Flags had gained a power play chance when Kellen Kaniecki was whistled for boarding. Ben Morrison picked up the assist. Mooretown additionally got points from Lyle, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Mooretown received assists from Kyle Smith and Colton Osborne, who each chipped in one.

The Blades' Klinton Kenney stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Blenheim incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mooretown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
