McLean lifts Dresden over Lakeshore, 6-2

The Dresden Kings relied on the scoring touch of Isaac McLean, who netted two goals, to beat the Lakeshore Canadiens, 6-2.

McLean scored at 15:09 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Dresden and again while 10:51 into the third to make the score 5-2 Dresden.

Dresden forced Canadiens' goalies to work all game long, finishing with 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Colin Tetreault made 21 stops and Tyler Ryan made six. The Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Dresden bested its season scoring average. The Kings average 3.9 goals per game.

Dresden also got points from Kyle Dawson, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Dresden included John Montgomery, Dillon Liberty, and Steven Funk, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Alex Hall, who had two and Taylor Sisson, Carter Smith, Kevin Ritzer, and Derrick VanEvery, who each chipped in one.

Lakeshore was held below its usual level of production. The Canadiens put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. Lakeshore's offense rang up 43 shots on Dresden's net.

The Canadiens were helped by Mejoe Gasparovic, who registered one goal. Gasparovic scored 15:52 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Dresden. Joe Binder assisted on the tally. Kyle Gagnon also scored for Lakeshore. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from Steven Sartor, Zack Bedard, and Michael Ruttinger, who contributed one each.

Travis Moore recorded 41 saves for the Kings. Dresden incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Lakeshore incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
