Blenheim downs Alvinston, 6-3

The Blenheim Blades took home the win against the Alvinston Flyers, 6-3.

Blenheim was helped by Drew Marlatt, who finished with one goal and one assist. Marlatt scored 5:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Blenheim. Brayden Hopkins assisted on the tally. Blenheim also got points from Nick Delyzer, who also had one goal and one assist, Kier Cumming, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Corbin Hagerman, who also registered one goal and one assist. Dustin Maines also scored for Blenheim. More assists for Blenheim came via Matt Clark, who had two and Doug Ross, Lucas Hickey, Bryan Boersma, and Owen Bateman, who contributed one each.

Alvinston's offense rang up 33 shots on the Blades' net.

The Flyers were led by Karsten Berg, who grabbed two goals. Berg scored the first of his two goals at 13:55 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Blenheim. Kirklin Dorman provided the assist. Berg's next tally made the score 4-2 Blenheim with 1:51 left in the second period. Alvinston had gotten the advantage when Blenheim's Maines was sent off for high sticking. Patrick Wright picked up the assist. Alvinston also got a goal from Jeremy VanDeven as well. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Clint Rose, Hunter Bryce, Zach VanEyk, and Carter Campbell, who each chipped in one.

The Blades' Eric Stewardson stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Blenheim incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Matt Boere recorded 22 saves for the Flyers. Alvinston incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
