Lakeshore outlasts Wallaceburg, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Lakeshore Canadiens escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Austin Jennings's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Lakeshore was sparked by Jennings, who registered one goal and one assist. Jennings scored 3:15 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Lakeshore. Zack Bedard picked up the assist.

In a losing effort, Wallaceburg was led by Keenan Clarke, who tallied two goals. Clarke scored the first of his two goals at 4:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Ryan provided the assist. Clarke's next tally made the score 3-3 with 25 seconds left in the second period. Justin Browning picked up the assist.

The Canadiens' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Wallaceburg power plays. Lakeshore forced the Lakers goalie George Hill to work between the pipes, taking 62 shots.

Lakeshore additionally got points from Brenden Crundwell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Kyle Gagnon, Aaron Moore, and Sebastian Kanally, who each put in one. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from JJ Percy, Brandon Ireland, Dylan Kolic, Mejoe Gasparovic, and Guy Levesque, who each chipped in one.

Wallaceburg's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Jackson Gray also scored for Wallaceburg.

Brendan Shuck made 13 saves before being replaced by Colin Tetreault, who took the win and made 13 saves. The Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lakers' Hill stopped 57 shots out of the 62 that he faced. Wallaceburg incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
