Mooretown survives Amherstburg comeback, wins 5-4Libro Centre Sun, Nov 29, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mooretown Flags, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals and clinched a 5-4 victory. Mooretown led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Flags' Trevor Bogaert scored at 17:13 in the first period to put Mooretown up 3-0. The Flags was paced on offense by Joe DeSena and Mike Kindrachuk, who combined for six points. DeSena registered two goals and one assist and Kindrachuk also notched one goal and two assists. Mooretown managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Flags finished below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Mooretown additionally got points from Kindrachuk, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Mooretown included Jakob Reeves and Ben Morrison, who scored one goal each. In addition, Mooretown received assists from Ryan Lyle, Parker Gilhuly, and Matt Brandon, who each chipped in one. Amherstburg was led by Dylan Muzzatti, who racked up two goals and one assist. Muzzatti scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mooretown. The Integrity Admirals had gained a power play chance when Kindrachuk was whistled for tripping. Blaine Bechard assisted on the tally. Muzzatti's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 4:15 left in the second period. Broden Meloche picked up the assist. Amherstburg also had goals scored by Curtis Prymack and Ryan Alexander, who each put in one. More assists for Amherstburg came via Jordan Luciw, who had two and Luke Gangnon and Connor Meyerink, who contributed one each. Nolan Hakr made 24 saves for Mooretown on 28 shots. The Flags registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Meyerink recorded 22 saves for Amherstburg. The Integrity Admirals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. |
