Travis Moore made 31 saves to complete the shutout and led the Dresden Kings to a 2-0 win against the Blenheim Blades. Blenheim's power play was ineffective against Dresden's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Kings were sparked by Kevin Ritzer, who had one goal. Ritzer scored short handed 8:28 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Dresden. Dresden was on a disadvantage when John Montgomery went off the ice for slashing. Dillon Liberty picked up the assist. The Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Blenheim power plays. Dresden also got points from Liberty, who also registered one goal and one assist. The Blades could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Blenheim puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. The Blades forced Dresden goalie Moore to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Kings incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Dresden ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Macks Holmes was ejected from the game. Blenheim's Eric Stewardson stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
