The Wheatley Omstead Sharks had trouble finding ways to stop the Dresden Kings, which beat Omstead Sharks, 7-2. Derek Shaw was all over the ice for Dresden, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Shaw scored the first of his two goals at 13:10 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Dresden. Brady Hogg provided the assist. Shaw's next tally made the score 6-2 Dresden with 16:42 left in the third period. A spearing penalty on Cole Butler had put the Kings on the power play. Kyle Dawson picked up the assist. Dresden stifled Wheatley's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Kings kept the Omstead Sharks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Eric Morneau made 28 saves on 35 shots. Dresden found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Kings average 3.8 goals per contest. Dresden additionally got points from Dawson, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Dresden included John Montgomery, Kevin Ritzer, and Derrick VanEvery, who each put in one. More assists for Dresden came via Steven Funk, who had three and Taylor Sisson, Dillon Liberty, Dayne Davis, and Isaac McLean, who each chipped in one. Wheatley forced Dresden goalie Travis Moore to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Omstead Sharks were led by Mitchell Prudence, who tallied one goal. Prudence scored 10:39 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Dresden. Delaney MacDonald provided the assist. Brett Bowman also scored for Wheatley. In addition, Wheatley received assists from Nick Tavolieri-Essex and Matt Taylor, who contributed one each. Travis Moore made 29 saves for the Kings on 31 shots. Dresden incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wheatley incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
