Blenheim survives Amherstburg comeback, wins 4-2

The Amherstburg Integrity Admirals tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Blenheim Blades held on for a 4-2 victory.

A goal by Bryce Broad put Blenheim up 4-1 in the second period, but Amherstburg pulled to within two on Jordan Luciw's tally 10:53 into the third period.

The Blades were led by Kellen Kaniecki, who had one goal. Kaniecki scored 9:36 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Blenheim. Braeden Allore picked up the assist.

Others who scored for Blenheim included Brayden Seliga and Drew Marlatt, who scored one goal each. More assists for Blenheim came via Brayden Hopkins, who had two and Bryan Boersma, Zack Horvath, and Kier Cumming, who contributed one each.

The Integrity Admirals stifled Blenheim's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Amherstburg did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Integrity Admirals put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Blades were unable to stop Amherstburg from sending pucks towards the net, and the Integrity Admirals eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Amherstburg was helped by Broden Meloche, who registered one goal. Meloche scored on the power play 13:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Integrity Admirals had gotten the advantage when Blenheim's Horvath was sent off for high sticking. Ryan Holzel assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were Dylan Muzzatti, Ryan Alexander, and Luke Gangnon, who each chipped in one.

Eric Stewardson recorded 33 saves for the Blades. Blenheim incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Connor Meyerink rejected 21 shots on goal for Amherstburg. The Integrity Admirals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
