Dresden blows out Integrity Amherstburg, 6-1

The Integrity Amherstburg Admirals had trouble finding ways to stop the Dresden Kings, which beat Admirals, 6-1.

Dillon Liberty was all over the ice for Dresden, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Liberty scored the first of his two goals at 19:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dresden. Kyle Dawson provided the assist. Liberty's next tally made the score 3-0 Dresden with 12:34 left in the second period. Kevin Ritzer picked up the assist.

The Kings were led by goalie Travis Moore, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Moore certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.78 entering the contest.

Dresden forced Integrity Amherstburg goalie Daniel Tonietto to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Kings bested their season scoring average. This season, Dresden averages 3.6 goals per contest.

Dresden also got points from Dawson, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Ritzer, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Derrick VanEvery, who also had one goal and one assist. Dresden also got a goal from John Montgomery as well. More assists for Dresden came via Carter Smith, who had two and Will Tetzlaff, Steven Funk, and Derek Daly, who contributed one each.

The Admirals' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 61 minutes in penalty time. Integrity Amherstburg had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Admirals did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Integrity Amherstburg puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Kings were unable to stop the Admirals from sending pucks towards the net, and Integrity Amherstburg eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Dresden incurred 52 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Kings, Montgomery was ejected from the game. Tonietto rejected 29 shots on goal for the Admirals. Integrity Amherstburg registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Team's Blaine Bechard and Curtis Prymack were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
