Alvinston falls to Blenheim in overtime, 3-2 (OT)GLJHL Head Office Fri, Nov 13, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Blenheim Blades pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Alvinston Flyers on a clutch goal by Matt Clark. Blenheim was led by Clark, who tallied one goal and one assist. Clark scored 2:26 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Blenheim. Bryan Boersma provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 10:52 into the third period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with six game misconducts. Blenheim also had goals scored by Dustin Maines and Corbin Hagerman, who each put in one. More assists for Blenheim came via Brayden Hopkins, Zack Horvath, and Drew Marlatt, who each chipped in one. Alvinston's offense rang up 43 shots on the Blades' net. The Flyers were helped by Kole Keating, who finished with one goal and one assist. Keating scored 5:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Blenheim. Clint Rose picked up the assist. Alvinston also got points from Rose, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Karsten Berg, who had one. Klinton Kenney made 41 saves for Blenheim on 43 shots. The Blades totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For Blenheim, Lucas Hickey and Bryce Broad were ejected from the contest. Cam MacAlpine rejected 24 shots on goal for Alvinston. The Flyers totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Team's Kirklin Dorman and Frankie White were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
