The Alvinston Flyers and the Wheatley Omstead Sharks skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Alvinston and Wheatley could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Omstead Sharks were unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Alvinston eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

The Flyers were helped by Matt Gough, who tallied one goal. Gough scored 3:48 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brady Swan picked up the assist. Kirklin Dorman also scored for Alvinston. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Jeremy VanDeven and Zach VanEyk, who each chipped in one.

Wheatley excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Omstead Sharks' offense rang up 34 shots on Alvinston's net.

Wheatley was led by Eric Prudence, who finished with one goal and one assist. Prudence scored on the power play 15:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wheatley. A cross checking penalty on Fraser Wilson had put the Omstead Sharks on the power play. Mitch Lantin provided the assist. Wheatley also got a goal from Nick Tavolieri-Essex as well. More assists for Wheatley came via Calyn Kir and Mitchell Prudence, who contributed one each.

Cam MacAlpine rejected 32 shots on goal for the Flyers. Alvinston incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Eric Morneau recorded 47 saves for Wheatley. The Omstead Sharks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
