Lakeshore rides Tetreault to victory over Alvinston, 5-1Atlas Centre Fri, Oct 09, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lakeshore Canadiens relied on the sparkling performance of Colin Tetreault in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Alvinston Flyers. Lakeshore's penalty kill excelled, as the Canadiens gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Lakeshore was led by Joe Binder, who registered one goal. Binder scored 9:20 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lakeshore. Zack Bedard picked up the assist. The Canadiens forced Alvinston goalie Matt Boere to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Lakeshore got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Canadiens were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes. Lakeshore also got points from Steven Sartor, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Kyle Gagnon, Austin Jennings, and Brenden Crundwell, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lakeshore were Colin Sartor, JJ Percy, Brandon Ireland, Hunter Corp, Dylan Kolic, and Mejoe Gasparovic, who each chipped in one. The Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Alvinston did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Flyers average 3.1 goals per game. Alvinston kept Lakeshore's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tetreault made 37 saves on 38 shots. The Flyers were led by Joe Stock, who scored the team's only goal. Stock scored on the power play 17:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lakeshore. Alvinston had gained a power play chance when Cameron MacDougall was whistled for cross checking. Mark McNally assisted on the tally. The Flyers' Boere stopped 37 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Alvinston incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
