Lakeshore downs Wheatley, 5-2

The Lakeshore Canadiens beat the Wheatley Sharks, 5-2.

Lakeshore excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Wheatley was unable to stop the Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and Lakeshore eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. The Canadiens surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Lakeshore has scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Canadiens were led by Hunter Corp, who racked up one goal and one assist. Corp scored 3:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakeshore. Zack Bedard picked up the assist. Lakeshore also got points from Nick Tavolieri-Essex, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Steven Sartor, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lakeshore included JJ Percy and Michael Long, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lakeshore were Aaron Moore, who had two and Joe Binder, Dylan Kolic, and Mejoe Gasparovic, who contributed one each.

The Sharks were led by Jack Leafeve, who registered one goal. Leafeve scored 9:33 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Lakeshore. Mitchell Prudence also scored for Wheatley. More assists for Wheatley came via Eric Prudence and Andreas Gossman, who each chipped in one.

Lakeshore's Branden Shuck stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Eric Morneau rejected 37 shots on goal for Wheatley. The Sharks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
