The Niagara Riverhawks, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Port Dover Sailors and clinched a 5-3 victory. Niagara led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Riverhawks' Brandon McLean scored at 17:51 in the second period to put Niagara up 4-1. The Riverhawks' penalty kill excelled, as Niagara gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. The Riverhawks forced Port Dover's goaltenders to work in net, racking up 36 shots and forcing 31 saves. Riley Edwards made 22 stops and Rene Kloepfer made nine. Niagara's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Riverhawks finished with 24 penalty minutes. Niagara was helped by Alex Cipriano, who tallied one goal. Cipriano scored 11:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Niagara. Andrew Somerville picked up the assist. Niagara additionally got points from McLean, who also had one goal and one assist and Dawson Ethier, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Niagara included Daniel Volpatti and Richard Deschatelets, who scored one goal each. The Riverhawks registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Niagara ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Alex Gonyou was ejected from the game. The Sailors incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
