Eric Mueller lifted the Port Dover Sailors to a 9-1 victory with a hat trick against the Simcoe Storm. Mueller's first goal came 7:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 54 seconds into the second and at 16:43 into the second.Port Dover's Rene Kloepfer was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. Kloepfer certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.16 entering the contest. The Sailors pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes. Port Dover forced Simcoe's goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 59 shots and forcing 50 saves. Nathen McKinnon made 11 stops and Tyson Taylor made 39. The Sailors' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Simcoe power plays. Port Dover bested its season scoring average. The Sailors average 3.4 goals per game. Port Dover also got points from Michael Almas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Steve Goeree, who also racked up one goal and three assists, and Eric O`Keefe, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Port Dover also got a goal from Ashton Mikasko as well. In addition, Port Dover received assists from Josh Turberfield, who had two, Michael Boateng, who had three, and Bradon Dunnett, Alex Takacs, Sam Restivo, Brad Johnson, and Connor Epping, who each chipped in one. The Storm excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Simcoe forced Port Dover goalie Kloepfer to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Storm incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
