Dundas blows out Port Dover, 5-1Market Street Arena Thu, Dec 10, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues were firing on all cylinders against the Port Dover Sailors, and when the final buzzer sounded Blues emerged with a 5-1 win. Port Dover was stymied by Dundas' netminder Andrew Albano, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Albano certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.6 entering the contest. The Blues' penalty kill excelled, as Dundas gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. The Blues stifled the Sailors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dundas was helped by Cam McConnell, who finished with one goal. McConnell scored 9:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dundas. Thomas Dowling picked up the assist. Dundas additionally got points from Ray Thompson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Chris Cudek, who also had one goal and two assists. Clay Donnelly also scored for Dundas. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Liam Buckley, who had three and Max Giannone, Phoenix Schueler, and Domenic Procopio, who each chipped in one. Port Dover stifled the Blues' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sailors were held below their usual level of production. Port Dover puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. The Sailors forced Dundas goalie Albano to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Blues incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Port Dover's Riley Edwards stopped 21 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Sailors incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
