Dundas wins tough contest against Grimsby, 5-4Niagara Jr. C Head Office Thu, Dec 03, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues gutted out a close 5-4 win against the Grimsby Peach Kings. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Chris Cudek at 11:00 of the third period. Cam McConnell had a great game for Dundas, netting two goals. McConnell found the back of the net 6:51 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 1:43 into the third to make the score 4-4. The Blues forced Grimsby goalie Jeremy Currie to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Dundas additionally got points from Domenic Procopio, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Dundas also got a goal from Phoenix Schueler as well. More assists for Dundas came via Thomas Dowling, Clay Donnelly, and Quinn Sallows, who contributed one each and Bryce Robertson, Ray Thompson, and Connor King, who each chipped in two. Dundas was unable to stop the Peach Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Grimsby eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Peach Kings were helped by James Thorpe, who registered one goal. Thorpe scored 1:10 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Grimsby. Matthew Jambrosich assisted on the tally. Grimsby also got points from Curtis Conrad, who also had one goal and one assist. Grimsby also had goals scored by Trevor McEneny and Carson Macrae, who each put in one. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Jeromy Hopkins, who had one and Nicholas Purves and Brennan Smith, who each chipped in two. Colin Bilik made 32 saves for the Blues on 36 shots. Dundas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Grimsby's Currie stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Peach Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
