Glanbrook rolls over Port Dover, 6-3

The Port Dover Sailors had trouble finding ways to stop the Glanbrook Rangers, which beat Sailors, 6-3.

Glanbrook got the win with help from a great game by Nicholas Sherwood, who had one goal and three assists. Sherwood scored 10:33 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Glanbrook. Michael Fortino assisted on the tally.

Port Dover was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Glanbrook eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Glanbrook also got points from Tyler Bell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Cameron Lapointe, Garnet Batrynchuk, Brad Parish, and Brett Farrelly, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Josh Pace, who had two, Chris Haigh, who had three, and Jake Bain and Matthew Hogan, who contributed one each.

The Sailors forced the Rangers goalie Matthew Venturelli to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Port Dover could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Sailors were helped by Braden Roberts, who tallied one goal. Roberts scored 6:20 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Glanbrook. Michael Almas provided the assist. Others who scored for Port Dover included Jordan Lenko and Eric Mueller, who each put in one. More assists for Port Dover came via Steve Goeree, who had two and Bradon Dunnett and Michael Boateng, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Venturelli made 38 saves for Glanbrook on 41 shots. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Port Dover's Riley Edwards stopped 38 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Sailors registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
