Dunnville completes comeback, beats Hagersville, 7-5Hagersville Sat, Nov 14, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats rallied from three goals down to secure a 7-5 win over the Hagersville Hawks. Dunnville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Jr. Mudcats trailed 4-1 after a goal by Hagersville's Bailey Fletcher at 13:22 in the second period. Dunnville knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Josh Meeuwse at 2:35 in the third period. The Jr. Mudcats netted the game winner at 9:04 in the third period on a goal by Meeuwse. Jake MacDougall had two goals to lead Dunnville to victory. The Jr. Mudcats' offense rang up 38 shots on the Hawks' net. Dunnville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Jr. Mudcats average 4.3 goals per game. Dunnville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Dunnville also got points from Meeuwse, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Matt Dolan, who also registered one goal and one assist, Darcy Muller, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Luke Rowe, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dunnville were Aaron Krajcir, Damien Lalonde, Chad Springer, and Devin Lampert, who each chipped in one. Hagersville stifled the Jr. Mudcats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Matt Lemassuir, Austin Cairns, Derek Friesen, and Dan Mederios, who contributed one each. The Jr. Mudcats registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. Team's Meeuwse and Josh Phibbs were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Ryan Guy made 31 saves for Hagersville on 37 shots. The Hawks registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
