Dundas wins tough contest against Grimsby, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Dundas Blues escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Grimsby Peach Kings.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Phoenix Schueler's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Schueler had two goals to lead Dundas to victory.

The Blues stifled Grimsby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Dundas also got points from Justin Homer, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Dundas also got a goal from Thomas Dowling as well. More assists for Dundas came via Mitch Moriarity, who had one and Dan Pelosini, who had three.

The Peach Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Dundas was unable to stop Grimsby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Peach Kings eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Grimsby was led by Brennan Smith, who tallied one goal and two assists. Smith scored 9:05 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Grimsby. Garnet McComber picked up the assist. Grimsby also had goals scored by Matthew Jambrosich and Curtis Conrad, who scored one goal each. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Joshua Kozielski and Gaetano DAlesio, who each chipped in one.

Colin Bilik recorded 42 saves for the Blues. Dundas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Marcus Hlywka made 26 saves for the Peach Kings on 30 shots. Grimsby incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
