Dundas wins tough contest against Simcoe, 4-2

The Dundas Blues and the Simcoe Storm were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Dundas made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Justin Homer secured the win for the Blues with a goal in the third period.

Dundas was led by Homer, who registered one goal. Homer scored 10:35 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Dundas. Domenic Procopio picked up the assist.

Simcoe was unable to stop the Blues from sending pucks towards the net, and Dundas eventually piled up 53 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Dundas included Mitch Moriarity, Phoenix Schueler, and Chris Cudek, who scored one goal each. In addition, Dundas received assists from Clay Donnelly, who had three and Bryce Robertson, Jaden Simoneau, Ray Thompson, and Thomas Dowling, who each chipped in one.

The Storm were helped by CJ Tomlinson, who tallied one goal. Tomlinson scored 19:27 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Zak Culbert assisted on the tally. Simcoe also got points from Dakota Culbert, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Simcoe were Tyson Mike and Drake Bailey, who contributed one each.

Andrew Albano recorded 26 saves for the Blues. Dundas incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Simcoe's Nathen McKinnon stopped 49 shots out of the 53 that he faced. The Storm incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Simcoe, Grant McKenzie was ejected from the game.
