Hagersville boosted by Tierney's play in net, beats Port Dover 4-1

Stephen Tierney had a standout game with 41 saves, and the Hagersville Hawks beat the Port Dover Sailors 4-1.

Hagersville was led by Dan Mederios, who racked up one goal. Mederios scored 12:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Hagersville. Clayton Millard provided the assist.

The Hawks stifled Port Dover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Hagersville additionally got points from Domenic Evangelista, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hagersville included Travis Bell and Matt Lemassuir, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Cole Martin, who had two and Bailey Fletcher and MIchael Arch, who each chipped in one.

The Sailors could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Port Dover puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Hagersville was unable to stop the Sailors from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Dover eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

The Sailors were led by Parker Watson, who scored the team's only goal. Watson scored 3:34 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Hagersville. Chad Carey picked up the assist.

The Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mike Caluori made 24 saves for Port Dover on 27 shots. The Sailors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
