The Niagara Riverhawks scored four goals in the second period to pull away from the Port Dover Sailors and clinch a 6-1 win.

Niagara pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 47 penalty minutes.

The Riverhawks were sparked by Dylan Leifso, who had one goal. Leifso scored 4:00 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Niagara. Dawson Ethier assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:57 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Niagara excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. The Riverhawks outdid their season average for goals scored. Niagara has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Niagara also had goals scored by Danny Gallagher, who had two and Brandon McLean, Alex Cipriano, and Richard Deschatelets, who each put in one. In addition, Niagara received assists from Dante Zawadzki and Robert Shaw, who contributed one each.

Port Dover stifled the Riverhawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sailors could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Port Dover was led by Eric O`Keefe, who scored the team's only goal. O`Keefe scored 11:25 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Niagara. Bradon Dunnett picked up the assist.

Niagara registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. The Riverhawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Danny Ledwez was ejected from the game. For the Sailors, Sam Restivo and Connor Epping were ejected from the contest.
