Grimsby downs Glanbrook in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Curtis Conrad gave the Grimsby Peach Kings a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Glanbrook Rangers when he scored 1:47 into the extra period.

Conrad had a great game for Grimsby, netting two goals.

Glanbrook's power play was ineffective against the Peach Kings' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Grimsby forced the Rangers goalie Matthew Venturelli to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Peach Kings' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Grimsby finished with 34 penalty minutes.

Grimsby also got points from Brennan Smith, who also had one goal and one assist. Grimsby also got a goal from Matthew Jambrosich as well. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Trevor McEneny, who had one and Dillon Cipretti and Jeromy Hopkins, who contributed two each.

Glanbrook was held below its usual level of production. The Rangers put an average of 5.4 pucks into the net per game. The Peach Kings were unable to stop Glanbrook from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Glanbrook was helped by Connor Maitz, who racked up one goal. Maitz scored 13:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Grimsby. Ryan Laufman assisted on the tally. Glanbrook also had goals scored by Garnet Batrynchuk and Brad Parish, who scored one goal each. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Chris Haigh, Nicholas Sherwood, and Brett Farrelly, who each chipped in one.

Jeremy Currie made 37 saves for Grimsby on 40 shots. The Peach Kings registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Venturelli rejected 31 shots on goal for the Rangers. Glanbrook incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
