Hagersville blows out Niagara, 5-2

The Niagara Riverhawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Hagersville Hawks, which beat Riverhawks, 5-2.

Hagersville was paced by Shaun General, who had one goal. General scored 9:42 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hagersville. Jake Reichheld assisted on the tally.

Hagersville also had goals scored by Domenic Evangelista, who had two and Dan Mederios and MIchael Arch, who scored one goal each. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Brayden Hill, Austin Cairns, and Cole Martin, who each chipped in one and Max Gunter and Mitch Green, who contributed two each.

Niagara kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephen Tierney made 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Riverhawks were helped by Andrew Somerville, who finished with one goal and one assist. Somerville scored 6:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Owen Devine provided the assist. Niagara also got a goal from Danny Gallagher as well. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara were Dawson Ethier, who had one.

Hagersville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Niagara's Sebastian Iannone stopped 19 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Riverhawks incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Niagara, Danny Ledwez was ejected from the game.
