Grimsby falls to Dundas in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Market Street Arena Thu, Oct 01, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dundas Blues' Brennan Smith scored 4:03 into overtime to beat the Grimsby Peach Kings, 3-2 (OT). Dundas' penalty kill excelled, as the Blues gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Dundas was paced by Mitch Moriarity, who tallied one goal. Moriarity scored 1:45 into to make the score 3-3. The Blues stifled Grimsby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Peach Kings were unable to stop Dundas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blues eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Dundas also had goals scored by Bryce Robertson and Chris Cudek, who each put in one. In addition, Dundas received assists from Jaden Simoneau, Ray Thompson, Liam Buckley, and Cam McConnell, who contributed one each. Grimsby's offense rang up 41 shots on Dundas' net. Others who scored for Grimsby included Kyle Kozielski and Garnet McComber, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Trevor McEneny and Matthew Jambrosich, who each chipped in one. Andrew Albano recorded 39 saves for the Blues. Dundas incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Peach Kings' Marcus Hlywka stopped 33 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Grimsby incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
