St. Louis blows out Nashville, 6-2

St. Louis had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over Nashville.

Alex Klaesner had two goals and one assist to lead St. Louis. Klaesner scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:32 into the first period to make the score 3-2 St. Louis. A cross checking penalty on Logan Orem had put St. Louis on the power play. Klaesner's next tally on the power play made the score 5-2 St. Louis with 3:29 left in the second period.

St. Louis' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Nashville power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

St. Louis also got points from Tomas Loeffelman, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Dominic Caito also scored for St. Louis. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Brian Schumacher, Daniel Dunaway, and Eduard Rumyantsev, who each chipped in one.

Nashville was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Nashville had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Nashville also got a goal from Josh Hill as well. In addition, Nashville received assists from Dylan Schmidt, Nicholas Redmon, Colton Anderson, and Nathan Rieman, who contributed one each.

Zach Young made 21 saves for St. Louis on 23 shots. St. Louis incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Nashville took out Ricky Gonzalez after he had made 15 saves and installed Nicholas Ottenbacher in goal, where he finished with seven saves and the loss.
