Huge game by Hay boosts Texas over Sugar Land, 7-0

Oliver Hay had two goals and two assists to lead Texas to a 7-0 victory over Sugar Land.

Hay found the back of the net 12:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas and again while 19:36 into the third to make the score 7-0 Texas.

Sugar Land's five penalties came back to haunt it, as Sugar Land let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Texas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Sugar Land to score on any of its five power plays. Sugar Land was unable to stop Texas from sending pucks towards the net, and Texas eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. Texas surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Texas has scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Texas additionally got points from Bryan Whelan, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Trey Greene, who also registered one goal and two assists, Kyle Galloway, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Sam Gagnon, who also had one goal and two assists. Zack Andersen also scored for Texas. In addition, Texas received assists from Ryan Dunner, who had two and Brock Brown, George Hansen, and Nick Nitta, who contributed one each.

Sugar Land was held below its usual level of production. Sugar Land puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game.

Brandon Perrone made 19 saves for Texas on 19 shots. Texas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kevin Mackey recorded 42 saves for Sugar Land. Sugar Land incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
