Camba's hat trick boosts Atlanta over Louisiana, 8-0

Evan Camba netted a hat trick to lead Atlanta over Louisiana, 8-0.

Camba's first goal came 10:55 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:06 into the third and at 17:07 into the third.

Atlanta forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Atlanta had been spending in the box. Atlanta stifled Louisiana's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Atlanta's defensive play was more effective than usual against Louisiana. Atlanta averages 2.7 goals allowed per game. Atlanta's offense rang up 47 shots on Louisiana's net. Atlanta found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Atlanta has scored at the pace of 5.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Atlanta also got points from Jacob Roers, who also had one goal and three assists and Dylan Wattles, who also registered two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Atlanta also had goals scored by Steve MacIver and Alex Johanson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta were Aleksi Hoivala, who had two and Philip Pugliese, Jack Cleaver, Drake Cartwright, Arturas Laukaitis, Frank Trazzera, Jesse Brown, and Ryan Dumond, who each chipped in one.

Louisiana racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. Louisiana surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Louisiana was held below its usual level of production. Louisiana puts an average of 2.3 pucks into the net per game. Atlanta's defense shut down Louisiana's forwards for much of the game, and Louisiana got off only 10 shots during the contest.

Corey Boettcher rejected 10 shots on goal for Atlanta. Atlanta registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Louisiana's Santeri Seppinen stopped 39 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Louisiana registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
