A rash of penalties cost Sugar Land the game, as Texas netted four goals with a man advantage in a 4-1 win.

Texas was led by Ryan Dunner, who had one goal and one assist. Dunner scored on the power play 53 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-0 Texas. Brock Brown assisted on the tally.

Texas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Sugar Land power plays. Texas' offense rang up 33 shots on Sugar Land's net.

Texas also got points from Brown, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Texas also had goals scored by Victor Ekk and Kyle Galloway, who scored one goal each. In addition, Texas received assists from Oliver Hay and Sam Gagnon, who contributed one each and Bryan Whelan and George Hansen, who each chipped in two.

Sugar Land's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. Sugar Land surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. Sugar Land could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Sugar Land averages 3.7 goals per game. Sugar Land did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting nine shots on net to force eight saves.

Sugar Land was led by Alex Norwinski, who scored the team's only goal. Norwinski scored 7:03 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Texas. Jonathan Adnell picked up the assist.

Tyler Myers rejected eight shots on goal for Texas. Texas incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kevin Mackey recorded 29 saves for Sugar Land. For Sugar Land, Dylan Dix was ejected from the game.
